Kristina Chance

Kristina a licensed mental health counselor, with specific training as a play therapist. She works with children and families who are in transition, experiencing a stressor, or at times, just need a little extra support.

Kristina sees her time with children in the play therapy room as inspiring. It is in there, when she get to witness their inner strength, self-direction, and tendency to process through play. Children are naturally drawn to the creative materials around them and will use them as tools to understand and organize their world. The value of play therapy arrives when Kristina becomes more than just a witness to this process and moves into a partner in their eyes. Children are resilient beings who can move through this confusing world on their own but when there is a trained partner, that process becomes less lonely and scary.

Kristina’s specialties also allow her to work with adults and teenagers, as well, in individual counseling and parenting consultations. Often, she will incorporate creative and playful techniques into her work with those who are not in the playroom. This process often allows for a connection to the powerful resiliency we had as children and to move forward with a spirit of growth and meaning.

Kristina also provides supervision to mental health counselors seeking licensure in Florida or therapists wanting to be Registered Play Therapists™.

Outside of the therapy room, you can find Kristina chasing her toddler, creating delicious recipes, or on Lake Santa Fe hanging out in the Florida sun.
