Kristina Chance

Kristina is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist™ providing child, adolescent, and family therapy in Gainesville, FL and surrounding communities. She works with children, teens, young adults, and parents navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, behavioral concerns, and life transitions.

As a child therapist specializing in play therapy, Kristina creates a safe, engaging space where children can express thoughts and feelings through play and creativity, often when words are hard to find. Play therapy helps children process experiences in a developmentally appropriate way while building coping skills, emotional awareness, and confidence. Kristina takes a relational, collaborative approach, becoming a trusted partner in the child’s therapeutic journey so they feel supported and less alone.

Kristina also provides individual therapy for adolescents and young adults in Gainesville, FL, supporting concerns related to stress, identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. Creative and experiential techniques are often incorporated to encourage insight, connection, and meaningful growth.

In addition, Kristina offers parenting support and consultations for caregivers seeking guidance, reassurance, and practical tools. She works closely with caregivers to better understand their child’s needs, strengthen the connections, and create consistency between home and therapy.

Kristina also provides clinical supervision for mental health counselors pursuing licensure in Florida and for therapists working toward becoming Registered Play Therapists™.

Outside of the therapy room, Kristina enjoys time with her family, experimenting with new recipes, and soaking up the Florida sunshine on Lake Santa Fe.
