Have Questions? Let Us Help!
Effective counseling requires a commitment of time and resources. We accept credit/debit cards and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. We can guide you on seeking insurance reimbursement for out-of-network services. For detailed information on fees and insurance, click here.
We are primarily a private pay practice, but we can help you use your insurance to offset therapy costs, depending on your plan and reimbursement policies. We guide you through checking your benefits and understanding coverage. We also directly bill for Florida's Step Up For Students Unique Abilities Scholarship. For more details, click here.
We provide individual counseling, play therapy, and group therapy. Our services also include parent and family support, along with neurodivergent-affirming assessments for ADHD and Autism.
It’s not always easy to know when to seek counseling. Many families wonder whether what they’re seeing is a “normal phase” or a sign that extra support could help. Or if this is simply a phase of life.
If you’re feeling unsure, take a moment to reflect on the questions below:
• Do you or your child or teen seem to be struggling or suffering emotionally? • What worries you most about your or their behavior, mood, or relationships right now? • Are you feeling overwhelmed or stuck in how to support them as a parent? • Have your efforts to help so far felt unsuccessful or short-lived?
If you answered yes to any of these, counseling may offer you or your child, and your family, the support, tools, and understanding needed to move forward together.
We schedule you for an hour on our calendar and plan to spend at least 50 mins of that time with you or your child in therapy. We use the remaining time to check in about progress, scheduling, and cleaning!
We often recommend beginning sessions on a weekly basis. However, we know there are limitations to this recommendation and work with you or your family to find a frequency that meets all of your goals.
We also provide extended sessions when necessary and book our parent consultations for as much or little time as needed.
The duration of therapy varies based on individual needs, goals, and pace of growth. Some notice positive changes within a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We regularly review progress and adjust goals to support your family for as long as needed.
For child therapy appointments, the first appointment (intake) is a meeting with only the parents or caregivers and the therapist. In this appointment, we will talk about all things related to your child! We will gather information about behaviors, home/school/community environments and relationships. We will also go over office policies, therapy process and expectations of your time here. We work to make sure everyone involved is walking away with a tailored plan moving forward.
For teen and adult therapy appointments, intake will occur with the client only. For teens, they can choose to have their parents or caregivers participate at this first session too. This time is focused on information collection similar to the intake's for children; however, we focus on going at your pace so that you are not overwhelmed with sharing right off the bat. We aim to develop a relationship that fosters openness and trust.
All therapy sessions are confidential. Exceptions include situations involving life-threatening circumstances or abuse. For children and teens, confidentiality is crucial for building trust and safety. We partner closely with parents, providing general updates and ways to support your child at home. Parents may be invited to participate in sessions when appropriate.
