Worry Warriors
Anxiety Therapy Group for Kids
Led by Jasmin Zambrano, RMHCI
About the group:
Worry Warriors is a fun and supportive group designed to help late elementary school kids (ages 8-10) learn how to manage anxiety, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills. Through interactive activities, creative expression, and peer support, children will gain tools to navigate worries in a safe and understanding environment.
Each session focuses on key anxiety management strategies, including identifying anxious thoughts, practicing relaxation techniques, and developing positive self-talk. Kids will engage in play-based therapy, including storytelling, art projects, role-playing, and mindfulness exercises. Activities like Superhero Resilience Training, Worry Monster Creations, and Calm Down Toolkits make learning fun while reinforcing emotional regulation skills.
Guided by a trained facilitator, Worry Warriors provides a structured space where children can express their feelings without judgment. Through group discussions, they will realize they are not alone in their worries and will learn from one another’s experiences. The group also incorporates movement-based activities like breathing exercises and yoga poses to help children manage anxiety physically.
By the end of the program, kids will leave with increased self-confidence, practical coping tools, and a sense of empowerment over their emotions. Worry Warriors encourages children to face their fears with bravery, helping them become resilient and self-assured in everyday situations.
This group is perfect for children experiencing excessive worry, school-related anxiety, or difficulty managing stress. Together, we will transform worries into strengths and build a community of courageous Worry Warriors!
