Jennifer  Perez

Jennifer is a license eligible Mental Health Counselor with specific training in working with young children, adolescents, and their families. She feels honored to offer support to children and their families during difficult times and to join them in their healing process.

In counseling, she aims to establish a sense of trust and acceptance with all clients to help them feel comfortable expressing their feelings, experiences, and themselves. She views this relationship as the foundation that empowers clients to move towards personal growth and healing. She is inspired by moments of strong connection with clients and by their courage to process challenging experiences in counseling. In the playroom, she fosters connection and 

encourages autonomy by following the child’s guidance. She also values collaborating with caregivers and family systems to best support the child’s progress.

Jennifer received education and training in providing therapy to children and their families through a trauma-informed perspective. Her clinical experience includes helping children with emotion regulation, separation anxiety, trauma, abuse, grief, autism spectrum disorders, and family related concerns. She utilizes creative and developmentally appropriate interventions with children to encourage their natural expression through play. With older children, she also focuses on establishing safety in the relationship, meeting them where they are at, and using interventions tailored to their specific needs. It is her hope that clients feel understood, valued, and supported when working with her.

In her free time, Jennifer loves spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys baking, reading, and doing various crafts.
